Nancy Lee is starting a collection of old sails for the fishermen of Haiti. There is a group in Miami that takes care of the shipping and distribution of the sails.
Sails for Sustenance is dedicated to recycling sails donated in the U.S. by providing them to subsistence fishermen of Haiti.
If you’ve got spare sails you’re not using, consider donating them to this worthy cause! Contact Nancy (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Donna (email@example.com).
Two very good articles all sailors should read: Cold Water Survival and Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning!
With our club actively sailing in both the summer and the winter, we need to remain vigilant at all times. All sailors should be prepared to rescue their fellows, and put safety first out on the lake.
